Sr. Margaret Burns
Margaret "Peggy" Burns, S.C.
Chair, Mathematics Department
Sr. Margaret "Peggy" Burns served as Chair of the Mathematics Department and taught math, physics, and computer science. She was an accomplished musician with campus ministry who often served as cantor for student masses. Sr. Margaret initiated the Women in Science Day at Seton Hill in 1989 to affirm and encourage young women in their study of mathematics and science. More than 100 young women attend the event annually.
